About
Eric...
Eric is
a completely self-taught artist. He always had a natural ability
to create realistic drawings with graphite and colored pencils.
He used that skill for six years designing T-shirts in a business
partnership started by he and a friend.
In 2000,
Eric decided to try painting a portrait of his wife. He found
a box of old oil paints and set to work. Eric found his aptitude
for drawing carried over to painting and he seemed to instinctively
know what colors to mix and how to apply the paint in layers
to create the desired effect. He then turned his attention
to fine art oil paintings and that has been his main focus
ever since. He has shown his work in galleries in Minnesota
and Colorado and does portrait and commissioned paintings.
Eric prefers
to paint in a realistic style, but can also create abstract
and surreal work when he wants. His paintings start with high
quality oil paints and triple primed canvas. When completed,
he applies at least two coats of protective varnish to help
protect against dirt and moisture. His paintings are created
with longevity in mind. An oil painting should last generations
if properly cared for. Eric uses only ten colors on his palette
to create any color he needs and paints in many layers letting
the paint dry in between. The layers underneath partially
show through the layers on top, giving the colors more richness
and depth.
Eric also
produces giclee prints of some of his work. The prints are
limited editions of only 25 per size, so once they are gone
no more are ever allowed to be printed.
Eric's
giclee's are created using only the finest archival inks and
canvas to produce a museum quality print. With state of the
art equipment and a meticulous eye for detail, the print is
as close to the original as possible. Prints are varnished
to protect against dirt and moisture and come with a signed
certificate of authenticity. Canvas prints are shipped rolled.
Your framer will stretch over stretcher bars.
